At the Extraordinary General Meeting of the Insurance Institute of Switzerland on October 27, 2020, it was decided to liquidate the IIS. The liquidation was published in the Swiss Official Gazette of Commerce (SHAB) on December 9, 2020. The debt calls were published in the Swiss Official Gazette of Commerce (SOGC) on December 14, 15 and 16, 2020.

In the spirit of a long-term strategy, the activities of the IIS are being transferred to the national education strategy. For this purpose, all activities will be continued within the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW), at the School of Management and Law, at the Institute of Risk & Insurance. The IIS is consequently liquidated as of June 27, 2022.

This is history:

The IIS has been founded as a non-profit-association, which is the most valuable way to make education happen for all motivated students and along the needs of the affiliated institutions. The Idea behind this structure is also that education in Risk Management touches all companies and can be fulfilled best within a strategically focused organization. To bear risk together is a successful model, the Insurance Industry gives a wonderful example for this success story. Therefore it is even more convincing that the education within this topic works best being based on a similar mechanism.

We would like to thank our founders to establish this idea and spirit and the over 60 members for their ongoing support within the association. Without this intellectual and financial support the IIS could not maintain its course program in the current form.

All companies, which would like to contribute to our efforts in providing further training in Insurance subjects or Enterprise Risk Management, can become an active member of the IIS.
